Rebooted Was Founded in 2021

The team have all been avid fans of second-hand, pre-loved, pre-worn goods and equipment for as long as we can remember!
Yet, although we have owned horses for years and collected lots of 'things' along the way, when it comes to selling equestrian items on, or indeed buying second hand, we realised that there were very few - if any - places to do so.

So the idea was simple: we would create one.

Passion Meets Purpose

So, armed with the passion for hoarding (we are not unique); love of horses; desire to reduce our (and your) carbon footprint; and the absolute commitment to reducing barriers to participation - one pair of breeches, boots, bridle, at a time - we created Rebooted.
Join us, get involved and know that every purchase and sale is a good thing!

For you, for someone else, and for the environment.

Beyond the Saddle

The Real Barriers

Coming from a background in equine education and training, as well as being riders themselves, our team have a vested interest in the lived experiences of people in the equine industry. It is well documented within the industry that the cost of equipment is a serious barrier to participation and, ultimately, success.

We see it as our responsibility to reduce or remove barriers wherever we can in order to make our beloved sport more accessible to anyone who wishes to get involved.

Zoe

Zoe has worked in the equestrian space for a significant period, with career highlights including travelling the Grand National, Gold Cup, Champion Hurdle, and Champion winners, to name a few! The wealth of knowledge that Zoe brings to the team is invaluable.
Recently, Zoe became a Mum to PJ, and is expecting twins imminently.

Zoe oversees the day-to-day running of Rebooted and the Rebooted Bit Bank, so get in touch!

Eleanor

Eleanor founded Rebooted in 2021. However, the project took a backseat while she has been founding training organisations in Scotland; competing her own horses; relocating to Ireland; and becoming a Mum for the first time!
Never one to back down from anything she feels passionate about, Eleanor is still committed to promoting the sale and use of second-hand quality equestrian equipment wherever possible. So while she may not be involved in the day-to-day running of Rebooted, she is still very much invested in its success.

Because Horses Cost Enough- They Shouldn't Cost The Earth!

Thank you for being part of this movement, and I hope you enjoy the ride.

Four Reasons To

Buy Second Hand

Some people don't like the idea of second hand clothing or equipment. Rebooted is keen to show you the joy, and a few reasons why second-hand is in demand.

Collapsible content

1. It’s more sustainable.

It takes 1,800 gallons of water to make one pair of blue jeans! If we can normalise the circular economy of passing our clothes on to people who can use them when we no longer need them, that means the environment won’t be paying the price in the future. Aside from massive water use, there’s damage to the environment, loss of habitat for animals, and pollution of natural resources.

2. It helps others.

Cost is so commonly reported as a barrier to participation.  Selling your clothing/equipment at Rebooted can help others get involved or try something new.

3. It saves you money.

If you think buying second-hand means a second-rate product, you're wrong. Many items sold are in excellent condition, and you will find some items that are brand new.  Items can cost a fraction of what you would pay for brand new.  Once you start finding these hidden gems then you really won’t believe the savings that you can make.

4. Reduces Landfill.

We are all aware of the biggest threat to our future on this planet: Climate Change. While eliminating single-use plastic has been getting a lot of attention, and rightly so, there are plenty of other areas where we can improve as a society, too.  Eleven million items of clothing end up in landfills each week in the UK – this amount is not sustainable. Buying and selling second hand is a small change you can make, personally, that can have a big impact, globally.

Rebooted Hopes To Use Equestrian Equipment To Promote Sustainability And Access To Opportunity

- It would take you thirteen years to drink the amount of water needed to make one T-shirt and one pair of jeans.
- 73% of clothing ends up in landfills or is incinerated.
- Rebooted makes it easy not just to recycle, but to recycle in a meaningful way
- The cost of participation is a barrier to entry to horse sports

We are working towards reducing waste and barriers to participation, one pair of breeches at a time! Because horses are expensive enough - they shouldn't cost the Earth!
