After searching relentlessly for bits (for our many equine companions), we realised that there was no opportunity to try bits before committing to it being the right one. So, we created Ireland’s first second-hand bit bank and bit rental scheme

How Does The Rebooted Bit Bank Work?

Most of the rebooted bits will automatically come with a 30-day trial. If you prefer, you can buy the bit without a trial, just let us know when you add it to the basket. Your bit will be sent in a new or good used condition. If it's not suitable, or you don't like it, for whatever reason, return it to us in the same condition and pay a hire charge starting from just €6.00.

Please note, if you would like a specific size or make, it may take some time for the rebooted bit bank to source it. Therefore, please be patient with your request or plan if possible.

There is no hire charge on Bits that are not returned to the Bit Bank- just the purchase amount.

How the Bit Bank

Service Works

The Rebooted Bit Bank offers a Bit Bank service that lets you try out our bits on your horse. Bits can be sold with or without the 30-day trial period- just let us know.

Trialling Bits

Once the bit arrives with you, it is your customer's responsibility to take good care of the bit- please make sure that the bit is kept in good condition throughout the trial period. The date of the trial period starts on the date stated on the invoice in the postage package, and the date by which the bit must be returned to the re-booted bit bank will be stated and will be approximately 30 days after the invoice date.

The customer is also responsible that the bit is safe from theft and loss, as you cannot request a refund for the bit after the 30-day trial. It is recommended that the bits be returned via a recordable and insurable postal facility, as Rebooted Horse Bit Bank cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage in the post when being returned.

We will refund you the price of the bit minus a small hire charge, levied on returned bits.

Health & Sanitation 

If you decide that you want to return the bit, please make sure that you clean the bit thoroughly with warm water only.
Once returned, we will thoroughly clean and disinfect all bits to kill any germs and bacteria.
Once it has arrived with you, it is recommended that you thoroughly clean and disinfect the bit yourself again as a double precaution as rebooted Bit Bank cannot be held responsible for any diseases, infections, viruses or mouth sores or ulcers or any other medical condition that appears after trialling one of the bits from the rebooted bit bank.
